Refinement and Intent
Following the formative years in Chicago, ESCLUSSO entered a period of deep refinement in London. The move marked not only a geographical shift, but a decisive evolution in thinking—where intuition gave way to precision, and experimentation matured into a more controlled, intentional practice.
Within the London studio, the language of ESCLUSSO was distilled. Forms became more defined, compositions more restrained, and colour palettes moved toward a deeper, more atmospheric register. Black emerged not simply as a colour, but as a study—exploring shadow, depth, and the quiet power of absence within interior space.
This phase was characterised by focus and clarity. Each object was no longer just an exploration of material, but a deliberate statement—positioned between design and sculpture, function and collectibility. The studio’s direction sharpened, aligning more closely with the world of contemporary collectible design and gallery presentation.
At the same time, London became a place of realisation. After years of building and evolving, Meg & Bart recognised a readiness for change—a shift toward something more expansive, more architectural in thinking, and more ambitious in scope. The work grew quieter, but the vision grew larger.
